In addition to recognizing the winners of the “Hollywood Film Festival®,” the Hollywood Film Awards® Gala ceremony also recognizes excellence in the established Hollywood community and celebrates both in front and behind the camera talent and launches the awards season. “The first mandatory stop in the awards season,” says The New York Times.
In the last 10 years, a total of 96 Oscar nominations and 34 Oscars were given to films showcased and/or to the honorees of the Hollywood Awards®.
The HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS®, “Breakthrough,” “Film,” “Humanitarian,” “Movie,” “Leadership,” “New,” and “Spotlight” awards are bestowed during the prestigious HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS® GALA CEREMONY.
SELECTION PROTOCOL: The selection process for our HONOREES/RECIPIENTS takes multiple elements into consideration and involves attending pre-press private industry screenings, press screenings, festival screenings, and research. It also includes the support and participation of established entertainment industry executives, from agents, critics, directors, managers, producers, publicists, screenwriters and studio execs to members of the craft guilds.

HOLLYWOOD SPOTLIGHT AWARDS®: The Hollywood Awards in-house team selects emerging and established talent in the fields of acting, directing, producing and screenwriting among others.
SUBMISSIONS: AGENTS, MANAGERS, PUBLICISTS, PRODUCERS, PRODUCER REPS and STUDIOS are invited to submit their clients.

HOLLYWOOD MOVIE AWARDS®: The Hollywood Awards in-house team nominates ten (10) films that have been released during this year. The winner of the selected films is chosen by the public voting online at YAHOO! MOVIES website.
HOLLYWOOD BREAKTHROUGH AWARDS®: The Hollywood Awards in-house team selects up-and-coming stars and filmmakers. The recipients normally are already active members of the community but this year have a special project(s) that makes them “stand out.” The tributes include Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director. Prior winners have included Orlando Bloom, Zach Braff, James Franco, Jamie Foxx, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sally Hawkins, Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley, Derek Luke, Rachel McAdams, Carey Mulligan, Ryan Murphy, Jeremy Renner, John Patrick Shanley, and Naomi Watts.
